For Manufacturers and Spine Surgeons

BOMED Academy: Surgical Technology Adoption Infrastructure

Structured 6-module program that accelerates adoption of minimally invasive technologies through competency-based training. Exclusive cohorts led by KOL surgeons with proven clinical experience.

Why manufacturers choose BOMED as a strategic partner

When a manufacturer establishes a commercial partnership with BOMED, BOMED Academy becomes the adoption engine. We don't sell products — we build sustainable demand through trained, confident surgeons.

Access to KOL Network

Our academic network includes key opinion leader surgeons at major hospital centers throughout Mexico. Their first cases with your technology are backed by instructors with hundreds of procedures of experience.

Accelerated Adoption

6-module program takes surgeons from fundamentals to independent practice in 6-8 weeks. We reduce adoption time from 12 months to 90 days through structured proctoring.

Risk Mitigation

Exclusive cohorts of 4-6 surgeons with in-OR support during first real cases. Each trained surgeon is a confident user of your technology, not a skeptical buyer.

Competency-Based Clinical Curriculum

BOMED Academy uses Miller's Pyramid pedagogical model, the standard in medical education, adapted for endoscopic spine surgery. Each module builds on the previous with measurable, verifiable learning objectives.

This is not a "weekend course." It's a structured pathway that takes surgeons from theoretical knowledge to independent performance, with competency assessment at each stage.

Six Structured Modules

Each module with defined duration, specific learning objectives, and competency assessment.

KNOWS

Module 1: Endoscopic Spine Anatomy

Duration: 4 hours

Topographic anatomy for endoscopic approaches. Identification of anatomical landmarks under endoscopic vision. Review of UBE indications and contraindications.

KNOWS

Module 2: UBE Principles (Biportal Endoscopy)

Duration: 6 hours

Fundamentals of UBE technique, patient positioning, portal placement, and endoscopic triangulation. Specialized instrumentation handling.

KNOWS HOW

Module 3: Intraoperative Neuromonitoring

Duration: 4 hours

Interpretation of somatosensory and motor evoked potentials. Neuromonitoring-based decision making. Integration with CADWELL equipment.

KNOWS HOW

Module 4: Plasma Energy in Spine Surgery

Duration: 3 hours

Cutting and coagulation techniques with BONSS plasma. Protection of neurological structures during decompression. Advanced hemostasis.

SHOWS HOW

Module 5: Cadaver Simulation

Duration: 8 hours

Simulated cases in anatomy laboratory. Supervised practice of endoscopic access, neural decompression, and hemostasis in cadaveric models.

DOES

Module 6: In-OR Proctoring

Duration: 3-5 cases

In-room support during first real cases. Direct instructor supervision at each critical step. Structured post-surgical feedback.

Academic Network of KOL Surgeons

BOMED Academy has a network of key opinion leader surgeons in endoscopic spine surgery, with active practice at major hospitals throughout Mexico. Our instructors combine clinical experience with proven pedagogical capability.

Instructor Profile:

  • Board-certified in spine surgery with fellowship or specialization in minimally invasive techniques
  • Average experience: 300+ endoscopic procedures per instructor
  • Hospital affiliations: Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara
  • Participation in national and international spine conferences
  • Prior experience training residents and fellows

Note: Specific instructors for each cohort are assigned based on availability and technology specialization.

What Makes BOMED Academy Unique

Maximum 4-6 Surgeons per Cohort

Small groups guarantee individualized attention during simulation and proctoring. This isn't mass training — it's structured mentorship.

In-OR Support

We don't stop at simulation laboratory. We support surgeons in-room during their first 3-5 real cases with direct supervision.

Training in Technologies We Operate

Academy isn't generic. We train specifically in the technologies we distribute: UBE + Neuromonitoring + Plasma. Each module prepares surgeons for cases with our portfolio.

Access to World-Class Facilities

Anatomy laboratory in partnership with academic institutions. Access to operating rooms at partner hospitals for proctoring under real conditions.

For Manufacturers

If you're evaluating BOMED as a distribution partner in Mexico, Academy is part of our value proposition. We train the surgeons who will adopt your technology.
